What's happening in Week 6?

Hello to all members of 2 White and their families,

It has been a busy week.  I hope things are well with all of you.

Fortnightly Value : PATIENCE
I have had a few questions regarding Study Ladder.  This program will be implemented during the coming weeks.  The students will bring home their passwords and usernames when they are available.  Sincere apologies to those who I have not replied to regarding Study Ladder.

Thank you to all those who have signed up to Dojo.  It's proving to be great motivational tool for the students.  Please know that communication between myself and parents should take place either in person, telephone or email as per address on the term 1 letter.  Thank you. 




Students require a baby photo of themselves for the classroom please.  We are using them as part of our "Watch it Grow" unit.  The photos will be returned home at the end of the term. 




Homework:

This week, the homework was sent home on on Friday 26th Feb and is due back completed on Friday 4th March.


Students, it is important to take pride in your homework.  This is part of your learning at home.




It is very important that children read every night in order to develop their reading and comprehension skills which underline their ability to process information across every subject area.  A list of ideas for parents that will help check your child's comprehension of the book they have read has been included in their reading folder as well as a list of the 200 Sight Words the students are required to know by the end of the year.  Please return the reading folder EVERY DAY regardless of whether or not your child has finished reading the book, as we use the reading folder to send home notes rather than have hem getting lost in school bags.

Homework:

The first homework sheet was sent home on Friday 5th Feb and is due back completed on Friday 12th Feb.  Currently each child has a list of 5 spelling words to learn over the week.  This may increase later in the term/semester.

It is very important that children read every night in order to develop their reading and comprehension skills which underline their ability to process information across every subject area.  A list of ideas for parents that will help check your child's comprehension of the book they have read has been included in their reading folder as well as a list of the 200 Sight Words the students are required to know by the end of the year.  Please return the reading folder EVERY DAY regardless of whether or not your child has finished reading the book, as we use the reading folder to send home notes rather than have hem getting lost in school bags.

What's happening in week 2?

Hello to all members of 2 White and their families,

We have had a great start to the term in 2 White! A lot of fun has been had catching up with familiar faces and making new friends.  On Friday, notes were sent home that outline the term ahead and encouraged parents to sign up with the Dojo program.  Please sign up for our blog, twitter, and Dojo as it will be through these mediums that I will provide weekly updates and insights into our classroom life.
